The Sea of Tranquility

Review:

I live in a world without magic or miracles. A place where there are no clairvoyants or shapeshifters, no angels or superhuman boys to save you. A place where people die and the music disintegrates and things suck.

You and me both, Nastya.

I've only read three New Adult books by now. First, it was Easy, by Tamara Webber. And second, Just One Day, by Gayle Forman. Third, this: The Sea of Tranquility.

While Just One Day dealt with searching for a boy and questioning if the main character was Allyson or Lulu, both Easy and Sea of Tranquility dealt with real problems. In Easy, the main character was almost raped. I enjoyed it but mostly I just got angry at the main character and her love interest.

I am not disappointed. Katja Millay knew how to write and describe how difficult it was for both Nastya and Josh.

Nastya didn't talk. Not that she could not but because she did not. And Josh was alone. Alone. Didn't have anyone else. His mother and sister were died in a car accident, his father passed away the following year. His grandmother died, and his grandfather was sick.

When you watch every person you love systematically removed from your life until at seventeen years old there is no one left, how can you think anything else?

I did not cry.

But at some points I was nearly crying, especially toward the end. I'm not going to tell how they met and et cetera, let me just give this review to be read.

I'm just going to tell how beautiful is the book and I can't help but compare this to Easy. I love Nastya and Josh and I really love the book where there are two narrators and they had different voices. Although at first Josh's did sound like Nastya's.

Josh and Nastya were like the kind of couple you didn't expect to end up together but eventually they did. The kind of couple who, after years and years, was still together.

There was no pure devil or angel. Every character made their own mistakes. And it was also about a second chance. How everyone deserves it.

This is just the kind of book that will make you cry or not, but the feeling is still there, even after you finish. The kind of book that will make you miss Nastya or Josh or even Drew. The kind of book that will make you recommend this to every human being. The kind of book that will make you talk about this to everyone who's willing to listen. Maybe a boyfriend if I had one. /bukancurhat/ The kind of book that will make you re-read it and smile again and still cry toward the end because you don't want it to end.

So if you're a human being happening to end up reading my review, why don't you stop reading this and start reading the book?

Rating: 4.5/5

P.S: Thank you to Dina for giving me the ebook, saying I'd love it--you're right. And also to Tirta for the late night talk, talking about Josh. :)) And whose review makes me want to read it.
